This is a crucial milestone, marking the project's transition from the equipment installation, pre-commissioning to reliable trial run phase, paving the way for synchronization with the national grid by the end of 2025 and its commercial operation in 2026.
The first oil firing of the Unit 1 was successfully carried out at 11:00 on August 16, 2025. This achievement is the result of the relentless efforts of all engineers, staff, and workers on site. Their dedication is part of a productive labor emulation campaign to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Safety Assurance and Environmental Protection
The first oil firing was a critical test to verify the readiness of the equipment systems, ensuring safe and stable operation while complying with all environmental regulations. Emission indicators were closely monitored, and with state-of-the-art handling and monitoring systems, the project is expected to fully meet environmental standards and ensure information transparency with regulatory authorities and the local community.
Project Schedule
As of early August 2025, the overall schedule of the Quang Trach I TPP Project had achieved over 94%. Specifically, both design work and equipment procurement had surpassed 99%, and construction and installation had reached over 85%. Contractors are mobilizing all available human and material resources to meet the milestone for the first oil firing and synchronization of Unit 1 by the end of 2025, before entering into the commercial operation phase.
PECC1’s Role in the Project
In this project, EVNPECC1 plays a vital role under Package No. 8 (TV08-QT1), with key tasks including:
- Design Review: Reviewing Technical Design and Construction Drawings.
- Supervision Consultancy: Supervising construction quality, schedule, work volume, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance.
- Contract Management: Reviewing documents, carefully checking commercial and legal issues, and coordinating negotiations with contractors and relevant parties.
- Geological & Geophysical Survey: Conducting essential survey serving the project's design and construction phases.
Throughout the project's implementation, PECC1's team of engineers has worked closely with the project owner and partners, demonstrating strong responsibility, expertise, and dedication. These contributions have not only ensured the project's schedule, quality, and safety but also solidified PECC1's reputation as a leading consultant for key national power source projects.
When put into commercial operation, the Quang Trach I TPP will not only provide stable supplementary power supply to the national grid but also become a significant driving force for economic growth in the North Central region. The project is expected to contribute approximately VND 1,200 billion annually to the State budget while creating numerous sustainable job opportunities for the local workforce, particularly for highly skilled engineers and technicians. Additionally, the plant will establish a favorable foundation for the development of supporting industries, contributing to the enhancement of Quang Binh province's socio-economic status.
